Andhra Pradesh's office complex starts with prayers

Mr Ayyanna Patrudu, after occupying his chamber, signed his first file related to construction of the roads.

Velagadapudi (Amaravati): The second phase of shifting AP’s capital started at Velagapudi on Wednesday. Panchayat Raj minister Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu and housing minister K. Mrunalini performed special pujas and inaugurated the ground floor of the fifth block of the temporary Secretariat in the state capital region, witnessed by a large gathering of Amaravati’s residents.

A festive mood prevailed in the complex with the arrival of locals wearing new clothes and presenting sweets, flowers and bouquets to the officials and employees who had shifted.

Ministers D. Uma Maheswara Rao, P. Pulla Rao, R. Kishore Babu, K. Ravindra, P. Narayana and N. China Rajappa; Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker, people’s representatives, employees, union leaders and locals turned the occasion into a virtual festival.

The ground floor was decorated with flowers, interestingly yellow, the colour of the ruling TD. Officials and employees occupied their chambers and cubicles and performed pujas at their seating places personally.

Mr Ayyanna Patrudu, after occupying his chamber, signed his first file related to construction of the roads.

Speaking on the occasion, he said “Despite several hurdles, including rain, the government succeeded at completing the Herculean task of temporary Secretariat. This is new beginning.”

The minister stated that he was very happy at getting the chance to inaugurate the temporary Secretariat and he wouldn’t forget the day for the rest of his life.
Mr Pulla Rao accused YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRC leaders of obstructing the temporary Secretariat construction.
He said that now leaders should open their eyes with the inauguration of the temporary Secretariat.

Asserting that AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has the capacity to build world-class new capital Amaravati, he said that the swift construction of temporary Secretariat was a display of the CM’s capabilities.

Mr Pulla Rao said that all the departments will shift soon and temporary Secretariat will function fully in the next 15 days. The minister claimed that the government had already provided necessities to the shifted employees and assured it would provide all basic amenities without fail. Ms Mrunalini too praised Mr Naidu’s capabilities.
