Walls paintings to educate kids in tribal hamlets in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district
ADILABAD: Wall paintings are coming up in various tribal hamlets in Maoist-affected Tiryani mandal in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district to ensure that children do not forget their lessons learnt at their schools.
The paintings essentially relate to alphabets and numbers which, authorities hope, will motivate children in continuing their learning during these times of Coronavirus pandemic.
In addition, students of senior classes living in the hamlets are also being asked to take classes for children under the supervision of village elders.
The initiative of educative wall paintings was taken up by Tiryani sub-inspector Pushpala Ramarao to help Adivasi children in bridging the gap in their studies due to the pandemic. The paintings are of alphabets, numbers and multiplications in both English and Telugu.
Such wall paintings have come up in nearly 30 villages, including Mangi, Kolamguda, Hostelguda, Rompelli, Mesramguda, Pangidi Mandara, Morriguda and Thalandi.
It is hoped children will pick up some learning even as they play around these walls.
