Knowledge centres in Telangana get Rs 10 lakh each

The centres will start functioning from the first week of June, to coincide with the State Formation Week celebrations.

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has sanctioned Rs 10 lakh to each district to set up Knowledge and Innovation Centres in every district except in Hyderabad.

The centres will start functioning from the first week of June, to coincide with the State Formation Week celebrations.

The DKICs will facilitate analysis of Samagra Kutumba Survey and geospatial data obtained through asset mapping taken up by teh Telangana State Remote Sensing Application Centre (TRAC) and other databases for providing policy inputs to collectors.

Special chief secretary, planning, B.P. Acharya said in order to provide infrastructure and hardware support, collectors may consider sanctioning funds up to Rs 10 lakh for the purpose out of the funds allotted to districts under the crucial balancing fund. He said the DKICs will be inaugurated by the collectors on June 5.
