Hyderabad: Over 90 Telugu pilgrims from AP and Telangana are stranded in Hilsa, Nepal, due to heavy snowfall and cold. Though all of them are safely put up at lodges at Hilsa, the pilgrims said that their return journey had been delayed. They alleged that the Nepal tour agency did not provide them proper facilities for their additional stay.

The Telugu pilgrims had gone to visit Mansarovar and other spiritual destinations in the Himalayas. About 13 pilgrims are from Mahbubnagar district while others are from various parts of AP and Telangana. “The Nepal tour agency has not even given us basic facilities. When we tried to inform the media, the agents took away our passports,” alleged one of the pilgrims, P. Balraj, a native of Mahbubnagar. “They have put us up in smaller rooms despite we paying lakhs of rupees for the tour,” he added.

The pilgrims said that they were supposed to return on May 27 but their journey got delayed due to bad planning of the tour agency and later by the bad weather.
The tour agency had informed them that their flight tickets have been booked for May 31m and the pilgrims hope they reach back their home safely. The pilgrims had started their journey from Hyderabad on May 16.
