Telangana, AP staff split creates new jobs; roughly 9,000 more vacancies
Hyderabad: The bifurcation of staff between Telangana and AP has resulted in roughly 9,000 more vacancies at state-level in Telangana.
The Kamalnathan Committee had bifurcated vacant posts between both the states along with working staff in which AP was allotted 13,189 vacant posts.
Telangana was allotted vacancies of 2,972 gazetted, 5,446 non-gazetted and 632 lower grade posts.
This is good news for job aspirants as these vacancies will be filled directly through TSPSC recruitment exams. Undivided AP had total sanctioned posts of 12.48 lakh at the time of bifurcation of state on June 2, 2014, which comprise state, multi-zonal, zonal and district-level posts. The Centre had entrusted the responsibility of bifurcation of only state-cadre posts to the Kamalnathan committee. Out of total posts in Undivided AP, TS was allotted 4,15,931 posts and 1,07,744 vacant posts.
The committee had shortlisted 153 state-level departments in which 76,429 posts were allotted, which need to be bifurcated between Telangana and AP. The committee has already completed bifurcation in almost all the departments barring police and health departments.
Out of total 76,429 state-level posts, the committee has allotted 32,164 posts to Telangana. Of them it was found that 9,050 posts are lying vacant.
