Kidnapped boy found abandoned in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: After a nerve-wracking 60 hours, an 11-month-old boy who was kidnapped on Thursday afternoon at Pithapuram Colony here was abandoned in the same locality late on Saturday night.
Police said B. Navdeep was kidnapped a woman vendor while he was playing in the cellar of an apartment, where his grandfather is a watchman. Navdeep was left on the road safely near Kalabharathi at Maddilapalem area. Motorists on the road found the toddler and identified him from pictures flashed on TV channels and alerted the police.
ACP (East) A. Narasimha Murthy said the toddler was doing well. “We suspect that a childless woman might have taken the boy but panicked after the publicity.”
Navdeep is son of B Rambabu, a worker at a tiles showroom and resident of Mangapuram Colony. He had gone to visit his father Appa Rao at Pithapuram Colony with his family when the baby was kidnapped.
