ICDS confident of Krishna getting No. 1 district tag

Vijayawada: Collector A. Md. Imtiaz was on Monday informed that Krishna district will in all likelihood be recognised as the best performing district in terms of maintaining anganwadi centres.

Speaking after reviewing the implementation of ICDS programmes here, Mr Imtiaz said that ICDS officials are confident that the maintenance of the 3,812 centres in the district will ensure the district stands at the top place in the state and the country.

He said that the district authorities have implemented a barcode system in the supply of eggs to ensure quality and avoid misuse.

The collector said that stern action would be taken against the suppliers if the inquiry on the complaints received through the Android app linking the anganwadi centres.

Later, the collector held a meeting with officials of the mines and geology department and the Inland Waterways Authority.

He directed the mines officials to allocate 3 lakh cubic meters of sand available at Ibrahimpatnam, Kotikalapudi, Damuluru river bay to the National Highways, GENCO and CRDA works.
