Hyderabad: Temperatures to drop next week
Hyderabad: The state will continue to sizzle and many places will record temperatures in the range of 43ºC to 44ºC, according to the IMD. Some parts of the state may get a little respite due to thunderstorms.
The thunderstorms will be caused by the Cyclone Fani, which is 950 km away from Machilipatman and is reportedly heading towards Odisha from Tamil Nadu.
Moderate to light rain is also expected along with the thunderstorms, the IMD said.
Due to Cyclone Fani gathering intensity in the next 24 hours and becoming a severe cyclonic storm, many places in the state can expect winds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour.
On Monday, heat wave conditions prevailed in many areas with Adilabad recording 45.3ºC and Bhadarachlam 42ºC. Hyderabad recorded 41.2ºC, which is one 1ºC above normal for this time of the year,
The above normal heat conditions will prevail on Monday too, the IMD said, indicating that there would not be any respite from heat.
The private weather website accuweather.com showed the maximum staying at 40ºC or above till the weekend. The night temperatures too were shown to be creeping up. Interestingly, it predicted that the maximum temperature would fall to 39ºC on Saturday and stay in the range of 37ºC till May 8.
