CM Chandrababu Naidu to review booth-wise polling trends from May 2

Chandrababu Naidu to start reality check, Victory margin would decrease: Telugu Desam.

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam candidates will face their boss and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu from May 2 for a booth-wise analysis of polling in their Assembly segments and Lok Sabha constituencies.

The booth-wise review will give the party leadership an overview of the party’s performance in the April 11 elections for 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats.

Mr Naidu, who will conduct the review with the candidates, booth and constituency in-charges, sought reports of polling for the Telugu Desam and other parties and voting trends.

Several Telugu Desam candidates conducted exit poll surveys with private teams on election day and are now preparing probability reports with caste and party wise voting trends in their constituencies. Telugu Desam candidates have started a post-mortem of polling with the help of agents, local leaders and party observers.

The reports will be analysed with the election results, and it will be a litmus test for the candidates.

Mr Naidu is claiming a victory in at least 130 seats and is trying to infuse confidence among party cadres who are confused by the claims of the YSR Congress.

Mr Naidu directed candidates to submit reports about party leaders’ contributions during polling.

Several Telugu Desam candidates said that during polling day, all TD leaders had observed voting trends and were preparing reports.

They said the margin of victory of the candidates would decrease due to competitive distribution of money to voters.

A candidate said they were preparing charts with the details of voters including caste-wise break-up, the voting trend for TD, YSR Congress, Jana Sena and other parties.

They said that the influence of Pasupu Kumkuma, social welfare pensions and Annadata Sukhibhava schemes on voters would be explained in the reports.

According to sources, the review meetings will be held for 13 to 15 days and this will give an idea about chances of a Telugu Desam victory 10 days before the results are out.
