Hyderabad: Admission drive gets poor response

The university, which conducted the admission campaign on Monday, saw aspirants register and apply for courses online from the help desk.

Hyderabad: The Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s (MANUU) admission drive on Monday saw less than 40 students enrol for its courses. Among those enrolled, doctoral courses proved to be the dominant choice.

The university, which conducted the admission campaign on Monday, saw aspirants register and apply for courses online from the help desk. Professors too were available to clarify doubts about courses.

Dr Mohd Yousuf Khan, Principal, Polytechnic, Prof Mohammad Faryad, Mustafa Ali Sarwari and Aijaz Ali Quraishi, president MANUU Alumni Association took part in organising the campaign.

Member Advisory Committee, Directorate of Examinations, Mr Mustafa Ali Sarwari said most of the students desired to do their doctoral courses in various streams from the University. Students showed interest in linguistic and social science courses than science courses.

While the last date to submit application forms for entrance based courses is May 1, the application for merit-based courses can be submitted till June 30.
