Adilabad sees 4 sunstroke deaths in 3 days: Official

On Monday, the mercury touched 45.3ºC temperature in some places in Adilabad.

Adilabad: At least four people are believed to have died of the searing heat in the district over the last couple of days. As many as four persons died of sunstroke in the last three days in the district.

One Rahul, 22, of Neerala in Jainad mandal died of sunstroke while undergoing treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday.

One person each has been reported dead due to the heat in Utnoor, Jannaram and Adilabad mandals in the last three days.

On Monday, the mercury touched 45.3ºC temperature in some places in Adilabad. High temperatures were recorded in Talamadugu, Bela and Jainad mandals in Adilabad district according to the Telangana State Development Planning society.

The streets in the town are deserted and even those whose wages depend on daily work, such as those with the NREGA, are not stepping out into the sun. Coolers were being sold briskly.
