109 candidates in fray for 24 ZPTCs in Karimnagar

It is to be noted that one ZPTC and three MPTC seats have been elected unanimoulsy in Jagtial district.

Karimnagar: With the withdrawal of nominations, as many as 109 members are in the fray for 24 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) seats and about 805 members of various political parties are vying with each other for 254 Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) seats in the first phase of parishad elections which are scheduled to be held on May 6 in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.

The elections will be held in seven mandals Manakondur, Shakarpatnam, Huzurabad, Saidappur, Jammikunta, Ellandakunta and in Veenavanka mandals in the first phase.

For seven ZPTC seats, 39 members are in the fray and for 89 MPTC seats, 208 members are going to contest in the elections.

In Peddapalli, the elections are going to be held in seven mandals Mutharam, Manthini, Ramagiri, Anthargam, Dharmaram, Kamanpur and Palakurthy mandals in the first phase.

As many as 32 members are in the fray for seven ZPTC seats and 250 members are in the fray for 62 MPTC seats in Peddapalli district.

In Rajanna Sircilla district, the elections in the first phase will be held in four mandals, Mustabad, Veernapalli, Yellareddypet and Gabbiraopet for which 19 members are in the fray for four ZPTC seats and 164 members are in the fray for 42 MPTC seats.

In Jagitial district,the elections will be held in six mandals, Raikal, Dharmapuri, Beerapur, Sarangapur, Buggaram and Velgutur mandals.

As many as 19 members are in the fray for six ZPTC seats and 183 members are vying with each other for 61 MPTC seats in the first phase.

It is to be noted that one ZPTC and three MPTC seats have been elected unanimoulsy in Jagtial district.

Boddu Sudharani of the TRS party from Velgutur mandal was elected unanimously for the ZPTC seat. Also, the candidates for the three MPTC seats of Pathagudur of Velgutur mandal, Arepalli and Kamalapur of Dharmapuri mandal were elected unanimously.

All the political parties have intensified their campaigns and are trying to convince the rebels who are in the fray against their own party candidates to withdraw.

The contestants are leaving no stone unturned and are holding meetings with party cadre along with meeting their respective community leaders and seeking their support.

The candidates are appealing to every voter to cast his/her vote to them and are assuring them that they would strive hard for resolving all the issues pertaining to the village and mandal if they emerge victorious in the ensuing zilla and mandal parishad elections for zilla and Mandal Parishad Territory Committees.
