Hyderabad: TS TD working president and MLA A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday wrote to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao seeking implementation of the free fertiliser scheme from the coming kharif season instead of next year.
The MLA said it would be better for the CM to adopt a resolution to this effect in the Assembly that will meet on Sunday. If needed, there can be revised Budget estimates for financial year 2017-18, he said.
Criticising the CM for saying that details of farmers were not available with the government this year, he said that this was untrue and “escapism”.
He said government does have all details of farmers since it has implemented the loan waiver scheme for the last three years. “Besides, the government has figures of all landholdings in the state that were collected during the comprehensive household survey,” Mr Reddy said.
“When you have data of the entire population collected in a survey conducted in a single day in 2014, how can you now say you require one more year to get details of all farmers,” Mr Reddy asked.
