BJP disrupting Tamil Nadu administration for selfish political gains: MK Stalin
CHENNAI: Accusing the BJP government at the centre of disrupting the functioning of the state government unmindful of people’s problems, DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the centre is misusing the IT department, Enforcement Directorate and Delhi police to gain a foothold in Tamil Nadu. “There are no grounds to think that the action of the central agencies are part of anti-corruption activities”, he asserted and recalled that Union Ministers had visited former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa after her conviction in a corrupt case. The same central government is suddenly showing keenness in anti-corrupt activities as if corruption had increased only after her death. The BJP which is showing great interest in AIADMK merger is not showing even a single per cent of the same interest in solving the problems of Tamil Nadu people, he alleged.
The BJP through ‘selective raids’ and ‘selective arrests’ had brought the state administration to a grinding halt and Tamil Nadu people are pushed to a pathetic situation of lack of powerful government in the state to solve their problems, he said in a statement here. The BJP is trying to set up an unstable government in the state and develop the party under its shade, he said and charged the centre with blindly using the Constitutional establishments for selfish gains, he said. The attempts to plant the BJP in the Dravidian soil is futile, he said and demanded action on AIADMK ministers based on the raids conducted and evidences unearthed by the IT department. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should stop using the IT, ED and other agencies and ensure a stable government which functioned with state powers, Stalin demanded.
Central police was sent to the Secretariat to conduct IT raids in the chamber of former Chief Secretary Rama Mohana Rao but no action was taken despite claims of seizure of gold and money. Though, Rama Mohana Rao reinstated in service, the BJP leaders are not questioning his return to government, Stalin wondered.
