Vijayawada: Minister for social welfare N. Anand Babu has claimed that only Telugu Desam has been working for the self-respect and pride of Andhra people and alleged that Opposition YSR Congress has been trying to hypothecate AP people for Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The 38th Formation Day celebrations of TD was held in the state TD Office at Guntur on Friday. Mr Anand Babu claimed that the TD has been working with dedication for the development and welfare of all sections of the society since the past 37 years and now a fight has begun against suppression of AP state by the BJP government.
He further claimed that TD had earlier united 39 political parties against the then Congress government and now once brought all Opposition parties, including the Congress together towards fighting an anti-democratic BJP government. He claimed that TD is going to end the fundamentalist BJP government in this election.
Guntur MP Galla Jayadev asked the TD cadre to work with dedication to bring TD into power by vastly campaigning about TD’s welfare schemes.
In a separate programme of TD Formation Day held at Mangalagiri, minister for IT N. Lokesh said that the TD is the party of all sections of the society, mainly working class, and it is offering aid to the party cadre since the past few years. He said the TD offered Rs 2.28 crore to 815 children of party workers for educational purposes.
He assured to work hard for the development of Mangalagiri constituency, on par with Amaravati.
