Tech start-up summit organised at IIM-Kozhikode

Collaboration is the key to a successful innovation ecosystem.

KOZHIKODE: IIMK LIVE, an Entrepreneurship Development Centre of IIM Kozhikode hosted a technology start-up summit today at the campus. The summit was aimed at bringing technology and entrepreneurs together to contribute to an ecosystem where innovations make national impact that benefits larger society.

Inaugurating the summit, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode said, “Focusing on purpose and realizing possibilities become critical for innovations to make impact. Technology is an important tool but applying it to solve larger problems demand keen observations of people.” He emphasized that at IIM Kozhikode too we have always eyed national problems to find innovative solutions. “With IIMK LIVE playing a catalyst role in galvanising various elements in the ecosystem, it itself seeks to become an example of how to solve for India through innovations,” he added.

“Collaboration is the key to a successful innovation ecosystem. Silicon Valley model has to be adopted for India. This event is a testimony to how we attempt to bring various stakeholders on a platform for the benefits of entrepreneurs.” Prof. Keyoor Purani, Executive Director of IIMK LIVE shared during a session on start-up ecosystem Dr. Saji Gopinath of Kerala Start-up Mission and Col. Jitendre Minhas of IAMAI Startup foundation also spoke.

The summit saw technology experts from corporates such as Mahindra Group, Google, Technology start-ups and Professors from IIM Kozhikode. More than 300 entrepreneurs and wannabe entrepreneurs participated in this daylong event.
