TD schemes only to plunder Andhra Pradesh, says PM Modi
Kurnool: Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off the BJP’s election campaign in Andhra Pradesh by asking people to take note of the development brought in so far in the state by the ‘Chowkidar’ who they had voted for in 2014.
He claimed that he was the first and only serving Prime Minister who had visited Kurnool since Independence and that the BJP was committed to developing the Rayalaseema region on all fronts.
Using rhetoric as an instrument of getting affirmative responses from the audience, the PM unveiled the progress report pertaining to AP, reeling out a slew of initiatives, ranging from establishing the IIM, IIT and Central University to NIT, IIIT and Petroleum Institute, which he said were all due to the good offices of the ‘Chowkidar’.
He also said that Polavaram was cleared as a national project in the very first Cabinet meeting of his government.
The PM held the Chandrababu Naidu government responsible for water woes of the state and said lack of rectitude and right thinking policies by the TD chief has led to the situation.
He said that while states design new schemes for the development and welfare of the people, “unfortunately there are leaders who design several schemes only to plunder the resources”.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the PM said: “Of late Naidu found new found friendship in people on bail.”
