Coimbatore: The CB-CID police took one more person into custody for investigation in connection with the Pollachi sex scandal. According to sources, CB-CID police took gang leader Thirunavukarasu into custody.
Based on vital information from him, they summoned a few more including the Congress party's Tamil Nadu executive president Myura Jaikumar, and AIADMK functionary Bar-Nagaraj to appear for an enquiry, while the son of Pollachi DMK functionary Thendral-Manimaran refused to appear for investigation, claiming that the case has been officially transferred to the CBI.
Manikandan, one of the alleged offenders who was on the run for more than a month, recently surrendered before the court at Coimbatore and made a plea for bail. The magistrate denied bail and ordered judicial custody till April 8.
The CB-CID personnel applied to take Manikandan under custody for investigation and the magistrate granted four days custody on Friday.
