PM Modi betrayed AP by denying SCS: Chandrababu Naidu

Chief Minister says PM Modi visited Andhra Pradesh to help Jagan.

Vijayawada: TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had betrayed Andhra Pradesh by not keeping his promise of granting Special Category status. He took to Twitter and said Mr Modi was visiting Andhra Pradesh only to help YSR Congress whose chief was neck deep in cases of serious financial frauds.

He recalled that the PM had broken the promise he gave in the holy city of Tirupati and Lord Venkateswara as the witness. He added that Mr Modi had promised to send those who had enmassed Rs 1 lakh crore and turned the state as Scam Andhra Pradesh, to prison. However, Mr Modi had now joined hands with the same persons who were responsible for Scam Andhra Pradesh.

He alleged that Mr Modi had pushed farmers, youth, minorities and the economy into deep distress. He said that even without fulfilling a single bifurcation promise Mr Modi was visiting Andhra Pradesh without any shame to help YSR Congress.

Later, Telugu Desam national spokesman Lanka Dinakar took strong objection to the PM’s visit to the backward Rayalaseema region as the Central government had not provided funds and ignored the development of the backward regions in Andhra Pradesh for the past five years.

He said that like a ‘Chor’, Mr Modi had taken back Rs 350 crore that was already deposited in the AP account towards the backward regions’ financial assistance.

Addressing a press conference at the Praja Vedika at Undavalli on Saturday, Mr Dinakar said that Mr Modi had no moral right to visit backward regions in AP as he had promised to provide Bundelkhand-like package to AP but had refused to fulfil the promise of providing Rs 24,500 crore to the ailing state.

He asserted that Modi was a self-proclaimed chowkidaar who had eventually become a chor who was safeguarding the interests of those who were plundering the nation.

Mr Dinakar said that the heartless Modi had not bothered to honour the commitment of fully granting Rs 16,700 crore of which only Rs 3,900 crore was given till now. Chief Minister Mr N Chandrababu Naidu had sent many requests for these funds but the BJP government did not care to do any justice to the state, he said.

Mr Modi was apparently the reason why Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao dishonoured the commitments to transfer properties belonging to AP’s share after the bifurcation, alleged Mr Dinakar.

Mr Dinakar also accused Mr Modi of deliberately provoking and using Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy to give a raw deal to the struggling people of Andhra Pradesh. He said, “The evil trio of Jagan, KCR and Modi are crushing AP state with the sole objective of destroying TD and thereby creating scope for future growth of their parties in the state.”
