GHMC ready with monsoon plan sanction
Hyderabad: The GHMC has got sanction for the monsoon action plan of `30 crore. A civic body official said the corporation had set a target if completing repairs on 150 lane kilometres under the periodical preventive maintenance (PPM) by April, and start nala desilting immediately.
Officials said that they would float tenders immediately after the end of the model code of conduct.
According to a GHMC official, the corporation would desilt nalas at 270 locations this year. It would form five types of monsoon teams including 79 for instant repair, 79 mini mobile monsoon emergency squads, 120 mobile monsoon emergency units, three central emergency teams and 132 static labour teams.
The senior GHMC official said the engineering wing was ready with the sanction and would float tenders and sanction works immediately after completing PPM works in April. He said that the team would begin work from June 1 and would be available till October 31. The official said the corporation would be chalking out an efficient action plan for desilting keeping the past experience in mind.
