Chandrababu Naidu proposes crowd-funding for Andhra Pradesh progress

Yanamala promises citizen-investors higher interest than banks; farmers told to donate one bag of their crop to state.

GUNTUR/Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam national president N. Chandrababu Naidu asked the people and farmers of Andhra Pradesh to give money to the government for the development of the state. In Vijayawada, AP finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the sta-te government was pursuing the proposal of establishing a Corporation to collect funds from the public for the construction of a Capital city. He also said the state government will pay higher interest when compared to banks.

Addressing the TD Formation Day public meeting held at Guntur on Thursday, Mr Naidu asked the public to give money to the government as deposits and promised to give more interest than banks to the investors. He further asked the farmers to donate one bag of their crop to the government in lieu of the TD government’s efforts to providing irrigation water through Pattiseema project. While participating in the TD Formation Day celebrations held at Vijayawada TD party office, Mr Ramakrishnudu said that TD was established for the welfare of the poor and had gained national reputation. He said the state government will issue bonds to the people who give loan to the government and appealed public to give the money to the govt. While speaking to mediapersons, Mr Ramakrishnudu reiterated the words of Mr Naidu.

In Guntur, the Chief Minister alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to give Rs 1,000 crore in aid during HudHud cyclone but had given Rs 650 crore only. He said that AP was going to play an important role in forming Central government in the 2019 election. He asked the people in AP to support the TD government and stated that if anybody cooperates with the BJP, then they will be termed betrayers. Mr Naidu came down heavily on the BJP, Jana Sena and YSR Congress during the public meeting and refuted allegations of Jana Sena founder and Telugu actor K. Pawan Kalyan on Polavaram. The Chief Minister claimed that relief and rehabilitation was the responsibility of the Central government.

He alleged that the BJP colluded with the Congress to divide Andhra Pradesh. Mr Naidu claimed that PM Narendra Modi assured of Special Category Status and fulfilling state bifurcation promises during the meeting at Tirupati and other places during the election campaign. He claimed that NDA-1 formed government due to TD’s cooperation and further claimed that he did not sought any posts in lieu of supporting the BJP. Mr Naidu claimed that BJP government gave SCS to 11 states and questioned why AP was denied the sa-me. He refuted BJP’s claims of TD government not submitting utilisation certificates and claimed that AP government had submitted all those without fail.
