CBSE paper leak: Probe demanded into Bio paper

Experts demand an immediate investigation about the leak at the highest level possible.

Hyderabad: After the confirmation of the leak of the CBSE board Class X maths and Class XII economics papers, now questions have been raised about whether the Class XII biology paper had also met a similar fate. Experts demand an immediate investigation about the leak at the highest level possible.

Many agitated students across the country have said that they will not write the examination again.

Dr Amit Gupta, an education expert, tweeted, “We demand an immediate level investigation into the matter of the CBSE paper leak. Questions are now raised about the Class XII biology paper as well, and if it is is true then it’s very scary.”

A student tweeted, “I received the biology theory question paper an hour before the exam but I saw them only after finishing the exam. I had not seen the question paper as I did not carry my mobile phone to the examination centre. The questions I received were exactly the same as the original question paper.”
Rishabh Dhawad, a Class X student said, “The CBSE conducting a re-examination is completely unjust to the students. Just because of some people the whole country is suffering. We are not going to take the exam again; instead the board should reconduct the papers only for those who are responsible for the leak. We are innocent and we will not take the exam again.”

Ms Manisha Agarwal, a parent from Hyderabad whose son studies in Chirec school said, “If the paper was leaked in Delhi then why is the CBSE planning to conduct the exam again all for the students across the country. When the CBSE officials know that the paper was leaked in Delhi, they should have just decided to do a strict correction of that region’s answer papers, instead of conducting the exams again for the students of other states. Even if the board tries to prevent the leakage, if the culprits have planned to leak the paper again then they will end up succeeding, which is why the CBSE should opt for a very strict correction instead.”

CBSE alleged of inaction to stop paper leak

Many alleged that despite knowing about the threats regarding the examination paper leaks, the CBSE did not take any action. On their official website, the CBSE had shared a circular on March 3, 2018 alerting schools, teachers and students against frivolous mails, messages and WhatsApp texts.

The CBSE stated that, “We have observed that some unscrupulous individuals have been writing to some of the examination centres demanding copies of the question papers for verification. Such individuals had sent text messages with the email id ce.cbse2018@gmail.com."

The notice put on the website directed examination centres to not send copies of any question paper and maintain the sanctity of the CBSE examination.
