Kerala: Talent contest for engineering students

Global engineering solutions firm QuEST Global will be conducting the seventh edition of national engineering talent search contest.

Thiruvananthapuram: Global engineering solutions firm QuEST Global will be conducting the seventh edition of national engineering talent search contest, Ingenium, here in September. QuEST Global chief operating officer Ajay A. Prabhu said at a press conference here on Tuesday that the special focus of this year's contest would be on mechatronics. Aerospace and defence, aero engines, hi-tech and industrial, medical devices, oil and gas, power and transportation would be the other key sectors. The top winning teams would get global exposure trips apart from a cash award of Rs 1 lakh. The winner of Ingenium 2016 had a trip to Airbus facility in the USA, said Mr Prabhu.QuEST Global Technopark centre head and vice-president S. Narayanan said the event would be an opportunity for students in engineering colleges to showcase their skills. A team of experts would evaluate the project.The contest is open to final year and pre-final year BE, BTech and dual degree students. Project abstract and details should be submitted on the website www.questingenium.com The QuEST Global plans to double the headcount to around 1500 by 2020.
