CID not keen on moving from Carlton House

CID says it is not the best of ideas from both the security and financial point of view.

Bengaluru: The CID has made its displeasure clear about moving out of Carlton House, saying it is not the best of ideas from both the security and financial point of view.

In a letter to the DPAR Additional Chief Secretary, Latha Krishna Rao, CID DGP H C Kishore Chandra has pointed out that besides the CID, the Cyber Crime cell, and the National Investigation Agency too have offices in Carlton House as it was a secure property. He said it was surprising the issue had cropped up again although the CID had made its stand clear on it on February 2 this year.

Noting that the annexe building had been constructed according to the requirements of the CID and was used for training of various security forces, he said the present set- up had already cost Rs 10 to Rs 15 crore to build and shifting it would cost the government even more.
