Telangana govt justifies giving 13 acres land to Ikea

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice A. Rajasekhar Reddy was hearing the PIL.

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government, while responding a PIL filed in the High Court on Tuesday, said that the 13 acres of land at Raidurg village was given to Ikea India so that people working at IT Corridor can purchase furniture and household items.

On behalf of the state government, additional advocate general J. Ramchander Rao submitted that the land was allotted under the Information and Communication Technology Policy to Ikea India which is into furniture business and this action is taken in conformity with the government decision.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice A. Rajasekhar Reddy was hearing the PIL filed by former MLA A. Revanth Reddy against the move.
