Kakinada: BJP to lit houses of beneficiaries
Kakinada: Under attack from the ruling Telugu Desam and several Opposition parties in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up to hit back, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in mind.
The party will launch the ‘Kamala Jyothi’ programme by lighting lamps before the houses of 1 crore beneficiaries from 25 Parliamentary Constituencies. The party identified four lakhs beneficiaries who are experiencing and have enjoyed Central government benefits. The party will send the beneficiaries list to the local BJP leaders and according to the list, the cadre will visit the houses of beneficiaries and educate them on the schemes and light the lamps.
The BJP has made the Lotus Lamps equipment from Madhya Pradesh. The Kamala Jyothi programme will be launched in February, party state executive member Pydah Bhavan Prasad said. He said that the party cadre would meet the beneficiaries and explain the schemes and light lamps in front of their houses with an auspicious sign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been introducing many programmes for the development of the poor and middle class, but the state government claimed the schemes as its own, he said.
BJP East Godavari district president Y. Malakondaiah said that the party would create awareness on the central government schemes among the people. He said that BJP National President Amit Shah would visit Visakhapatnam on February 4 and he would meet Shakthi Kendras in-charges of all districts.
He said that nearly 1,112 Sakhthi Kendras in-charges would attend the meeting from East Godavari. He said that on the same day Amit Shah would inaugurate Ratha Yatra, to be taken up by state president Kanna Lakshminarayana at Srikakulam. The Yatra will tour in East Godavari on February 7 and 8, covering 11 Assembly constituencies.
He said that there were large scale irregularities of '1 crore in each village in the NREGS implementation. He said that the BJP would bring to the people the correct information of all these scams.
