Hyderabad: Sewer water flows on road

Mr Reddy requested the authorities to penalise the building owner and resolve the issue at the earliest.

Hyderabad: Even though the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has been imposing fines for letting residual water and sewerage water onto the city roads and damaging them, there has been no behavioural change from residents and commercial establishments. Even prime areas such as Banjara Hills are not exempt.

Delta Seacon, a commercial establishment on Road No. 11, Banjara Hills, has been letting sewer water onto the city roads and damaging them. The sewerage flows until Sarvi restaurant. “There has been no action from both the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board authorities, despite several complaints,” says M. Shiva Prasad Reddy, a local resident. He said that sewerage overflow has been a regular problem, not only causing a foul smell but also damaging the roads. Mr Reddy requested the authorities to penalise the building owner and resolve the issue at the earliest.
