Nellore: Atmakur YSR Congress legislator Mekapati Gautham Reddy has invited former Finance Minister and YSRC leader Anam Ramanarayana Reddy to Atmakur for a joint interaction with the latter’s followers.
Mr Gautham Reddy met Mr Ramanarayana Reddy at the latter’s residence in Nellore on Tuesday.
Mr Ramanarayana Reddy had represented Atmakur in the Assembly between 2009 and 2014 and he was aspiring for the seat when he joined YSRC. However, the party offered him Venkatagiri to enable Mr Gautham Reddy to contest from Atmakur once again.
Mr Ramanarayana Reddy has got sizeable following in Atmakur segment and Mr Gautham Reddy is naturally keen on establishing ties with them to better his chances of victory in Atmakur.
Mr Ramanarayana Reddy gave his nod for introducing his followers to Mr Gautham Reddy at Atmakur shortly.
Sources said that the two leaders also discussed about district politics and planned a public meeting with all YSRC leaders of the district to send a message that they are one family and not a divided house.
They have also planned to counter the TD Government’s proposal to offer post-dated gift cheques to women Self Help Groups under the plea that it is nothing but bribery.
