Hyderabad: Maths Teacher suspended for sex abuse

Hyderabad: Maths teacher K. Lingaiah of Z. P. High School in Shivanagar, facing sexual harassment allegations, was suspended on January 25 itself, Sangareddy district education officer Vijaya Kumari said on Monday. The DEO received a complaint on January 11 after which an inquiry was conducted by assistant director and nodal officer against the teacher. The accused teacher gave his submission on January 25 after which he was suspended.

Denying the allegations by the child rights wing, DEO Vijaya Kumari said, “There was no meeting between the staff members and the accused, and no excuses were accepted from the accused. A proper inquiry was done in the school and the teacher was given a show-cause notice, and immediately suspended as per procedure.”

 

Meanwhile, the child rights wing has written to SP Sanga Reddy and state DGP about the issue of K. Lingaiah sexually abusing girl students of the school, asking for him to be booked under POSCO Act.
