Criminals' survey challenged in Hyderabad High Court
Hyderabad: A petition was moved in Hyderabad High Court questioning the action of the Telang-ana government issuing a circular for conducting comprehensive survey of offenders across the state.
Abdul Hafeez, a resident of Kalwakurthy, moved the plea stating there was a case under Sections 420 and 465 of the IPC pending against him in Kalwakurthy police station for the alleged filing of an RTI application, obtaining a photostat copy of the complainant’s ration and Aadhaar cards in the case.
He told the court that police had been harassing him with the circular and forcing him to visit the police station and furnish his finger prints and other information. He contended that the state government and the police were acting contrary to the fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
