Vijayawada:The LPG explosion at the house of Reddy Ranga Rao, an iron scrap merchant, has destroyed most of the household things, but left an almirah full of glass utensils intact.
Though this strange occurrence couldn’t be completely explained, police say the thick glasss covering of the almirah might have shielded the items inside.
The almirah was located just two feet away from the centre of explosion, yet not even a single object in the almirah got displaced. Meanwhile, doors and windows far from the almirah were blown out to at least 30 feet distance.
Considering the intensity of the blast and its sound, locals suspected that it was a bomb blast. The police too could not draw any conclusion initially and roped in clues team, dog squad and other experts to confirm that the explosion happened not due to any explosive substances but gas leakage.
