I won't be mute spectator if I am not made KSPCB chief: Dr Sudhakar

If they do not give me the post, I will have to think about my future strategy,” Dr Sudhakar said.

Bengaluru: A day after the party central leadership finalised portfolios of ministers inducted into the cabinet, another Congressman took pot shots at the leadership.

On Friday, party MLA for Chikkaballapura, Dr K. Sudhakar, who was recommended for the post of chairman of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), but may have lost out due to a technicality came out in the open about being left out and said he would not sit quiet if he had been dropped from the list.

His statement comes in the wake of chief minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy reportedly informing the AICC general secretary in charge for Karnataka, K.C. Venugopal that the Janata Dal (Secular) would not give the KSPCB to the Congress party.

“I have met the chief minister twice in the past and I have never shown any disrespect to him. Our party follows principles. I am not sure of other parties. But I will not be a mute spectator if I am denied the post, citing technical reasons that only an engineer can be the KSPCB chairman. If they do not give me the post, I will have to think about my future strategy,” Dr Sudhakar said.

Saying he has not been officially informed, he said: “Till now, the party has not informed me about this,” adding that he had tried to reach Mr Venugopal but had been unable to do so, thus far. “If the party drops my name, the party has to inform me. I do not know who in our party decided to remove my name, I have only seen this news in the media. But, I will not keep quiet if I am not given that post,” he warned.
