Hyderabad: Dawat-e-Islami refused nod

Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh claimed Sunni Dawat-e-Islami was banned in Pakistan and it was not allowed to conduct any programme.

Hyderabad: The city police on Friday refused permission to Dawat-e-Islami to conduct its two-day religious congregation on December 29 and 30 at Idgah Mir Alam.

Mr Nayeem Attari of the organisatipn said DCP, South, Amber Kishore Jha had asked them to either cancel the programme or address the people for a while without using a public address system.

Sufi organisations had on Thursday and again on Friday called on Mr Jha and asked the police not to give permission to the organisation. They had alleged that it was based in Pakistan and had links with terror organisations.

Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh claimed Sunni Dawat-e-Islami was banned in Pakistan and it was not allowed to conduct any programme. He claimed it had scheduled the congregation in the Old City with the support of the MIM and the TRS government.

In a social media post, Mr Singh asked Director General of Police M. Mahendar Reddy and Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar to check out the organisation.
