H D Kumaraswamy soft pedals Congress pick for boards
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Mr H D Kumaraswamy denied he was unhappy over Congress making appointments to Boards and Corporations, including Chief Minister's political adviser, and that he had forwarded the list of portfolios allotted to new ministers by Congress party to the Governor.
Reacting to questions after he released the logo of International Film Festival, to be held in February next year at Bengaluru, Mr Kumaraswamy quipped: “Do I look unhappy? I am not upset over anything.”
Congress leaders had sent a list to the Chief Minister after they had allocated portfolios to ministers, which the Chief Minister then forwarded to the Governor. Even in the case of appointments to Boards and Corporations, as well as Parliamentary Secretaries, there was no confusion, Mr Kumaraswamy said.
When asked about comments by Mr Basavaraj Horatti on the growing differences between the allies, Mr Kumarswamy said that many people, including Mr Horatti have spoken about the issue. However, the differences would be sorted out through discussions. “I can not reply to whoever speaks. All I can say is that there are no problems,”' he said.
On former minister Mr Ramesh Jarkiholi travelling to New Delhi with Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mr. B.S. Yeddyurappa, which fuelled ongoing speculation he would join the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mr Kumaraswamy asked if it was wrong, and dismissed it, by saying: “They may have something to discuss and they are free to do so.”
