Vijayawada: People in Vijayawada and surrounding areas are getting ready to usher in the New Year with a bang with several events planned on December 31.
Many youth are already excited and are planning to be a part of one of the events, and enjoy to the fullest. The biggest event planned is at Vijayawada Club, where a musical night by music director Devi Sri Prasad would be held and actress Tamannah, popularly called ‘milky beauty,’ will entertain people at ‘The Blast 2018’ to be held at Haailand. These apart, four more events have been planned in the city, in tune with the culture followed in many big cities.
In Vijayawada Club, along with music director Devi Sri Prasad, singers Sagar, Manisha, Prudhvi Chandra, Sameera Bharadwaj and others will also take part in the programme. Actress Zarine and anchor Meghana will host the show. At Haailand, Tamannah, Punjabi beauty Mehreen Kaur and Paisa Vasool fame actress Kyra Dutt will usher in the New Year, dancing to popular songs from movies.
Illuminate, at A Convention centre, Vollywood 2018 at Sai Jewel Convention Hall, Amaravati New Year bash at V Convention Centre, New Year Blast at Southern Grand Hotel, Gandhinagar are other New Year parties in the city. They are charging anything between Rs 500-Rs 1,000 for one person and Rs 1,000-Rs 2,000 for couples, based on the type of food and amenities being provided. The Vijayawada club and Haailand are charging between Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000.
Akash, an engineering student, said, “We have to welcome the New Year by partying. We will enjoy that night as we are going to Devi Sri Prasad's programme.” All the events will start by 7 pm and end at 1 am in the night.
