Praja Sankalpa Yatra begins in Chittoor

Naidu hates district as people never trusted him: Peddireddy.

TIRUPATI: YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has entered Chittoor district on his 46th day of Praja Sankalpa Yatra at Tamballapalle constituency on Thursday. YSRC legislature Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and others had welcomed him to the district. The yatra had completed in three districts and now entered Chittoor district. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will walk through nine constituencies in the district and will cover 265 Km. The Praja Sankalpa yatra will be completed by January 18.

On the first day of yatra Mr Reddy walked for 5.1 Km at Balija Palle under Kadiri constituency and entered Yeddulavari Kota under Tamballapalle constituency in Chittoor. He has also covered Yeddula Vemanagari Palle, RN thanda, Kottala Cross, Vasantha Puram villages. As soon as the yatra entered Chittoor, Ramanamma, 45, a differently-abled woman from Yeddulavari Palli village met Mr Reddy and shared her concerns. She told the YSRC chief that she is a beneficiary of state pension under which she is entitled to receive Rs 1,500 per month, but has been receiving only Rs 1,000.

She informed Mr Reddy that when she approached the TDP leaders for resolution of the issue, they threatened her for raising voice against TDPs misuse of governance. The Opposition leader said he would fight for her cause and also asked her to wait for just one year. Speaking to media persons, YSRC legislator Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said, “Thousands of party activists and people have received Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy grandly. The response from the public is being increased in every district. If we form the government we will definitely reopen Vijaya dairy and cooperative sugar factories, which were shut by N. Chandrababu Naidu for his own benefits. Also Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has agreed to give a cow to each poor family so that they can sell milk too.”

He added, “Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu hates Chittoor district because, the people in the district had never trusted him. When late Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy tried giving water to Kuppam, he had joined hands with Tamil Nadu and encouraged them to file a case against the Project. Galeru-Nagiri is kept aside. Eighty per cent of Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanti works were completed during YSR’s five year tenure, the government is incapable to complete the remaining in these four years.”
