Kochi: Kochi Range IG P. Vijayan on Thursday headed a high-level meeting on the measures needed to be taken by each department in the event of natural disasters such as Ockhi Cyclone. District collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla, city police commissioner M. P. Dinesh, Naval Commander Sudeep Malik, JOC deputy commander Varun, representatives of boat owners and fish workers attended the meeting. The meeting has decided to employ modern technologies for the safety of fishers and fishing boats. The meeting also discussed the need for having a register on the fishermen in the sea and opening a control room for them.
