Kerala: Ockhi Cyclone contributions touch Rs 45-crore

According to government sources, till Wednesday Rs 45 crore went into the fund and it is set to cross Rs 50 crore by Thursday.

Thiruvananthapuram: People have responded in a big way to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan's appeal to donate liberally towards Ockhi Cyclone relief fund a fortnight back. According to government sources, till Wednesday Rs 45 crore went into the fund and it is set to cross Rs 50 crore by Thursday.

They said with employees’ salary contribution to come in by next week it could go beyond Rs 120 crore which is close to the first instalment of Rs 133 crore sanctioned by the Union government on Wednesday. The chief minister had called upon the government employees, semi-government employees, Central government employees, staff organisations, private establishment employees.
