Hyderabad: The role of GHMC officials in the fake construction permit created by the owner of three-storey buildings at the Malkam Cheruvu is being probed. The owner erected the structures on 600 square yards in the full tank level (FTL) of the Malkam Cheruvu. The GHMC Circle office is already under the police radar. In a recent inspection, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan found an illegal construction on the walkway of the Malkam Cheruvu. On Inquiry, it was found that the owner was possessing fake papers.
The GHMC, West Zone, on the instruction of the Mayor, booked a criminal case for cheating and forgery and the Raidurgam police started the probe against the owner, Rama Rao, on Thursday. When a GHMC team visited, Rama Rao submitted papers with the GHMC logo and the officer’s signatures. On cross-checking, they were found to be fake. “Rama Rao cannot own the land because it is the lake’s FTL. Both, land and building permissions copies are fake,” said the Mayor.
