Kerala to extend PSC rank valid for 6 months
Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to recommend to the Kerala Public Service Commission to extend all PSC rank lists by six months, till June 30, 2017.
The rank lists include those which had not been extended till now and the lists which are scheduled to expire on March 31, 2017. The decision comes in the wake of agitations by various organisations demanding extension of rank lists and removal of the virtual recruitment ban in the state. The PSC will take a decision on the Cabinet recommendation at its meeting scheduled to be held on Friday.
Yuva Morcha, which had launched an indefinite agitation in front of the Secretariat demanding extension of rank list, called off its stir after the government decision. BJP president Kummanam Rajashekharan urged the government to extend all rank lists.
However, Youth Congress activists who are also holding a protest decided to continue the agitation till PSC meeting on Friday announced the decision.
Meanwhile, Rank Holders Associations have decided to continue with their agitation. The associations said the government decision was not satisfactory and they will not call off the stir till the authorities with a concrete step to resolve their grievances. One of the agitators representing KSEB Mazdoor Rank List Holder Association who was protesting atop a tree for past 24 days, was persuaded to climb done on Wednesday.
