Journalism students at Kerala University publish special bulletin

Some 50 students from the first and third semester were behind the making of the newsletter.

Thiruvananthapuram: The students of mass communication and journalism at the Kerala University has brought out special news bulletin for the Indian History Congress (IHC). The first issue came out on Wednesday.

M.S. Harikumar, the head of the department, said the news bulletin to be distributed to delegates would be published till Friday when the History Congress is scheduled to conclude. The bulletin will have only news and views related to the IHC.

Some 50 students from the first and third semester were behind the making of the newsletter, he said. Students handle reporting, editing, photography and other production related jobs. Only the printing work is handed over to an outside agency, he said.

Mr Harikumar said that apart from that the students have also started a Facebook page which also live-streams various sessions, besides youtube.

Another initiative was a 40-second signature video created by a team of students led by Abhilash Sudheesh.
