Andhra University to host international symposium from Jan 5
Visakhapatnam: Nobel laureate from Bangladesh, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, will be the chief guest and deliver the keynote address at the international symposium on ‘Social Business for Sustainable Development’, scheduled to be held from January 5 to 7, 2017, in Andhra University.
On Wednesday, AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Nageswara Rao, Registrar Prof. V. Umamaheswara Rao, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Engineering Adviser-Academics Dr V.S.R.K. Prasad, Dean (Media Relations) Prof. P. Bobby Vardhan and convener and organising secretary of the symposium Prof. K. Raghu Babu released the brochure of this symposium in the varsity.
Prof. Nagesawara Rao said that about 30 eminent speakers from outside India and about 1,000 participants from India are expected to attend the symposium. “We have been conducting the symposium in commemoration of the varsity completing its 90 years of existence as well as 10 years of Nobel Prize to Prof. Muhammad Yunus, in association with the Yunus Centre,” said Mr Nageswara Rao. The other sub-themes of the symposium include “Designing 21st Century Education to Become an Entrepreneur”, “Green Economy-Clean Environ-ment” and “Ethics of Energy”.

Students from the colleges and schools will also take part in the event,” Prof. Nageswara Rao added. The symposium includes special interaction and brainstorming sessions chaired by Dr. VSRK Prasad and Member Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, BSS Prasad.
