Andhra Pradesh: 5 people including an 18-month-old die in road accident

Visakhapatnam: In a tragic incident, five people including a 18-month-old toddler died when their Scorpio jeep met with an accident on NH-16 stretch near Gokulapadu area in Visakhapatnam district on Wednesday. Four others were critically injured in the accident.

The police said that the family of 11 came to Visakhapatnam city for a holiday and were on their way to Hyderabad. On Wednesday night, front right wheel of the vehicle suddenly burst. The driver lost control over the vehicle and hit a road-divider, crossing over to the other side of the NH-16 where the vehicle was hit by a lorry coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased were identified as Rajesh Singh (42), Roopa Singh (49), Subhash Singh (18), Priya Singh (18 months) and Sneha Singh (18) all were residents of Hyderabad city in Telangana.

While three people died on the spot, Priya Singh and Sneha Singh lost their lives while they were undergoing treatment at King George Hospital in Vizag city on Thursday morning. The police have a registered case and investigation is on.
