Hyderabad cops to seek custody of Shilpa Chowdary
HYDERABAD: Tella Shilpa Chowdary, who collected crores of rupees from several women from high profile families on pretext of investments into real estate business, allegedly diverted the funds for purchasing a luxurious villa at Gandipet and also produced a B-grade Tollywood movie during the lockdown.
Days after the Narsingi police registered two different cases, the investigation officers intensified investigation into the cases.
The police asked Shilpa Chowdary’s family members to submit registered documents of the villa for verification. The police suspect that the villa was purchased by Shilpa Chowdary a few years ago by investing crores of rupees.
The police officials informed they noticed that the accused Shilpa Chowdary and her husband Srinivas Prasad were staying at a luxurious villa at Gandipet. The
investigators are also looking into their sources of income in purchasing the mansion at the posh locality.
It also came to light during the investigation that Shilpa Chowdary produced a small budget film ‘Sehari’ starring new actors. The shooting was done during the lockdown.
The Narsingi inspector V. Shiva Kumar said, “We will file a plea on Monday before the court seeking police custody of the two accused. Based on court directions, we will move further,” the inspector said.
The police also collected details of financial transactions made by Shilpa Chowdary and obtained details of her bank accounts. The police also retrieved footage of CCTVs from Shilpa Chowdary residence at Gandipet.
