RAJAHMUNDRY: Minister for Human Resources Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao called upon students to aim high in their lives and work hard and make every effort to realise their dreams.
Taking part in the second convocation of Adi Kavi Nannaya university here on Wednesday, where graduating certificates were given to successful students, the minister stated that the people in the state were developing confidence in government educational institutions as these institutions provided quality education.
He added that nearly 1.71 lakh students from private schools had enrolled in government schools in the state in the last four years. He underlined the importance of imparting quality education to the students as it would help enhance the quality of education system and also help development of the country.
National Institute of Teachers Training and Research chairman Allam Appa Rao stated that 60 percent of India’s population comprised the youth and added that the world was looking at the country with high expectations.
Addressing the students who received certificates, he advised them not to be content with what they had got but to dream big and make hard efforts to realise their goals.
AKNU Vice-Chancellor M. Mutyalu Naidu said that they had taken up a series of developmental work projects in the university in the last three years and added that the university had got 12B status for 2017-18.
Later, an honorary doctorate was presented to the chairman of NITTR Dr Allam Appa Rao. Mr Ganta Srinivasa Rao also inaugurated the main entrance gate of the university designed along the lines of the Chalukya Dwaram to represent the reign of Raja Narendra who ruled the city of Rajahmundry.
The minister was felicitated by the ad hoc teachers from 14 universities in the state following the government’s decision to provide them minimum time scale and ensure job security up to 60 years of service.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister assured the teachers, that he would look into the issues of outsourced workers to provide them some benefits.
