Hyderabad: Public relations officers of caretaker ministers were found violating the election code of conduct. The PROs who draw their salary from the government were found posting and promoting the politicos on Facebook and Whatsapp groups.
It was found that PRO of ministers K.T. Rama Rao, T. Srinivas Yadav and T. Padma Rao, among others, were posting messages about government scheme and projects on social media even after the election code came into effect.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has written to the general administration department directing it to take necessary action against the PROs.
“Keeping in view of the model code of conduct, the GAD should furnish compliance report to the CEO. But, so far no reply is received in the matter. The department should consider it as a top priority,” the letter stated.
