Kapu community rallies behind TRS in Kukatpally

Even AP residents who own lands in Telangana were beneficiaries of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, Mr Miryala Raghav Rao said.

Hyderabad: The Kapu community which is the largest in Kukatpally constituency with about 62,000 voters will support the TRS. The community feels that instead of preferring a non-local TD leader like Nandamuri Suhasini belonging to the Kamma community, it is better to support a local leader who can address the local issues and let their businesses thrive, their representatives told the media on Wednesday.

Not only Kukatpally, representatives from Serilingampally, Quthbullapur, Patancheru and Sanathnagar, where the number of Seemandhra residents is high, will be participating in a public meeting at Moosapet on November 30 and extending support to caretaker minister K.T. Rama Rao.

Mr Miryala Raghav Rao of Sri Krishnadevaraya Association said, “The constituencies are being portrayed as dominated by citizens of Andhra Pradesh, but there are people from other states as well. Our community of Kapus, Balijas, Turpu and Munnur Kapus will extend support to the TRS because there were no law and order issues in the past four-and-a-half years. Even AP residents who own lands in Telangana were beneficiaries of the Rythu Bandhu scheme.”

They said that because there were no jobs in AP, people were returning to Hyderabad due to safe environment created by the TRS government. The representatives said that even though Telangana leaders are criticising one leader of AP — TD president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu — it was being portrayed as if they are against all Andhra people.

They also claimed that Mr Naidu had AP-origin people in limbo and shifted base to Vijayawada. Mr Adusumalli Venkateshwar Rao said, “We cannot forget how they (Congress and TD) used leaders like Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. In Kukatpally they are targeting only one caste, but people of Seemandhra will block the minds of those leaders.”
