Modi salutes Telangana martyrs

Mr Modi started and ended his ten-minute speech in Telugu and in between switched to Hindi amidst BJP workers chanting Modi, Modi'.

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Centre would not discriminate against any state on political grounds, and that the BJP was committed to competitive cooperative federalism.

Mr Modi started and ended his ten-minute speech in Telugu and in between switched to Hindi amidst BJP workers chanting ‘Modi, Modi’. Hundreds of BJP workers wore Modi masks.

“Whenever I come to Hyderabad, I proudly remember Sardar Valla-bhbhai Patel who mer-ged Hyderabad Samsth-an (Hyderabad State ruled by the Nizam) into Indian Union. It is Veer Bhoomi. I salute the Telangana martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this,” Mr Modi said.

About the BJP in Telangana state, Mr Modi said though it could not get an opportunity to serve the four crore people of Telan-gana state, the party workers were still serving the public.
