469 industrial units got nod: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: The GES provided an excellent platform for Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to project Telangana state as an investor destination par excellence — that too in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who in his earlier avatar as Chief Minister of Gujarat was credited with creating a business-friendly environment.
He said the state had given approvals to 5,469 industrial units with a total investment of $17.5 billion and created over 4,00,000 jobs. All this has happened without the investors having to run from pillar to post.
Hyderabad has the second largest presence of the five most-valuable companies in the world outside their own headquarters in the US — Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Amazon — said Mr Rao who couldn't hide his delight at showcasing the state to 1,500 entrepreneurs from across the world.
Mr Rao tried to place TS in a favourable position to attract foreign investments by highlighting that the country's newest state was ranked No. 1 state in the Ease of Doing Business rankings.
He invited the delegates to enjoy the legendary hospitality of Hyderabad and relish its signature dish, biryani, a remark which got a response from Ms Ivanka Trump.
