The Opposition BJP is bracing up to corner Primary and Higher Education Minister Tanveer Sait in the last leg of the winter session in Belagavi over his alleged viewing of sleazy pictures on his mobile phone at a function in Raichur, but highly placed sources in Criminal Investigation Department (CID) claimed that the case has been closed giving a clean chit to the minister.
The CID team reportedly found that the minister merely scrolled over the messages and files he received on Whatsapp and did not view porn clippings at all. ''The minister was merely scrolling on the messages and files he received on his Whatsapp after switching on his phone and did not open or download any files that contained sleazy pictures. He merely opened his Whatsapp to check messages and was scrolling when a news cameraman captured his visuals,'' said CID sources. Based on the CID report, CM Siddaramaiah is expected to shield Mr Sait when BJP leaders raise the issue. Sources said, in the case of BJP legislators who had to resign from the cabinet for viewing porn clippings in the past, the TV cameraman had caught them red-handed.
